Description

With MagLatch is installed and used properly your firearm is no longer deemed an "assault weapon" in restrictive states. Our kit installs as easy as the mil-spec magazine release because it is exactly that. We've taken mil-spec parts and modified them rather then redesigning a nearly perfect platform. That means no funny arms, milling, or drilling your lower. When utilized properly our compliant device converts your firearm to fixed magazine bypassing assault weapon registration requirements. When used properly the F.N.G.R. conforms to all requirements of SB 880/AB 1135 and NY Safe Act. Most restrictive states follow the same requirements but be sure to check with your local authority before installing our device.

Use of a M3 PMAG 10 round magazine is recommended in conjunction of our fixed magazine device.

Regardless of type, fitting of the F.N.G.R. shim may be required due to variations to the recess of the magazine well.

MODES OF MAGLATCH F.N.G.R.:

  • IN A BAN STATE: Insert magazine of 10 rounds or less. Insert F.N.G.R. shim.
  • IN A FREE STATE: Disassemble Upper and lower. Remove F.N.G.R. shim. Use rifle as intended where legal to do so.

IN RESTRICTED STATES IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO USE CERTAIN FIREARMS WITH A DETACHABLE MAGAZINE.

An ejection port loader such as the Bear Flag Defense BF-10 is recommended for fastest reloads.

Kit includes:

  • MagLatch Modified Magazine Catch
  • F.N.G.R. (Type 0, 0F, 1, 2)
  • Magazine Catch Spring
  • Magazine Release Button
  • Set Screw
  • Allen Key
  • Installation Instructions

Don't forget your backup F.N.G.R.'s!

After overwhelming requests to solve the ever growing problem of forgotten magazines, Andrew Bobro of Bobro Engineering, designed the F.N.G.R. to prevent misplacement of your magazine. F.N.G.R. was originally designed to retain your firearm's magazine in the confines of your lower receiver to prevent loss or theft.

Patent Pending

MagLatch devices have not been approved by the DOJ. This device was designed to conform to the law as written in SB-880/AB 1135, which defines “fixed magazine” to mean an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action. Thousands of units have been installed and tested under the law. Multiple authorities have authorized use of our device. Since DOJ refuses to release an opinion letter we are unable to claim it is DOJ approved.

    The BEST AR compliance device

Published by Sean on May 1st 2020

If you live in a ban state such as New York that requires a fixed magazine, this is in my opinion the only solution. It installs in under 3 minutes without permanently altering or damaging your carbine. The removal process is simple removal of the set screw and the fngr and does not damage your rifle or the device. I can install for compliance in New York and when visiting family in Pennsylvania I have full function! Thank you mag latch

I HATE that I LOVE this thing

Published by Sun Jam on Feb 16th 2020

This is the smallest, most convienient, and least obtrusive of the compliance devices that I've been forced to use since certain laws have been passed. I really love that when I'm outside of compliance areas, I can push the takedown pin, tip my rifle over to drop the little F.N.G.R. out, and pin it back; now you've got a normal mag eject. As long as fixed magazines prevent a rifle from becoming a dreaded "assault weapon" I'll have this latch installed on every AR15 pattern rifle that I own. The design is clever, it works, and the fit finish is nice. My only complaint has been that the mag release button that shipped with one of the kits, fit too tightly in my cerakoted lower to use. It worked out just fine because the threading is standard so the existing, lightly smaller button worked just fine. I would recommend the machinists try to shift their OD tolerance ranges to a bit on the smaller side to accommodate coated lowers.

    Perfect Solution

Published by Kris on Jan 12th 2020

Replaced my existing fixed mag kit with Maglatch. It took only a few minutes to install. The F.N.G.R. screw turns loosely in the mag catch, and seems it might fall out from just handling the rifle around. But it’s still a perfect solution.

Easy to work with, and easy to convert when you get to a state that likes freedom.

    AR15 - FNGR Kit

Great kit, easy to install. Works just fine without the locking plate, I didnt notice a difference from a regular mag catch but when needed you can pop that plate in and be CA compliant instantly.

    MagLatch

Published by Mike on Sep 21st 2019

This is a phenomenal product for converting AR-15s to fixed magazine applications in restricted state. I live in NY and my Sig 516 Gen 2 is now a fixed magazine allowing for most stocks and accessories to be applied without the “assault rifle” classification. I absolutely recommend this product.

    Best compliance device yet

    Published by B on Sep 17th 2019

I’ve had featureless and bullet button and all that and the maglatch by far is the best yet. Don’t buy some gimmicky takedown button spring loaded product that breaks frequently and easily. For a few cups of coffee you can have a compliance device that actually works well and is easy to install.

Best compromise on NY fixed mag kit without drilling into a expensive lower

Published by Jay on Aug 26th 2019

Super easy install and and vice versa when In and out of restricted states. I travel a good amount for training while away from home if I can get a rifle course in while away I try to . Only issue I have with this is when not in the fixed configuration the mag catch release button tends to catch or drag on the mag and or magwell . Need to spend more than 5 mins to possibly adjust the tension on it. All in all I had a few mag fix kits and they all sux

Notes about the fngr and its shipping

Published by Halsey on Jul 30th 2019

I gave 4 stars because I wasn't impressed with the amount of time this took to ship. It was almost 2 weeks out before I got any notification that it was shipping. Customer service was a little slow to get back to me but they did. I give the product itself a 4.5 star. When installed I still had a little movement pressing the magazine release, I believe this should be solid with no movement. Even with the set screw installed the button still gave movement. Other than that, products seem to be of good quality.
