Description

With MagLatch is installed and used properly your firearm is no longer deemed an "assault weapon" in restrictive states. Our kit installs as easy as the mil-spec magazine release because it is exactly that. We've taken mil-spec parts and modified them rather then redesigning a nearly perfect platform. That means no funny arms, milling, or drilling your lower. When utilized properly our compliant device converts your firearm to fixed magazine bypassing assault weapon registration requirements. When used properly the F.N.G.R. conforms to all requirements of SB 880/AB 1135 and NY Safe Act. Most restrictive states follow the same requirements but be sure to check with your local authority before installing our device.

Regardless of type, fitting of the F.N.G.R. shim may be required due to variations to the recess of the magazine well.

MODES OF MAGLATCH F.N.G.R.:

  • IN A BAN STATE: Insert magazine of 10 rounds or less. Insert F.N.G.R. shim.
  • IN A FREE STATE: Disassemble Upper and lower. Remove F.N.G.R. shim. Use rifle as intended where legal to do so.

IN RESTRICTED STATES IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO USE CERTAIN FIREARMS WITH A DETACHABLE MAGAZINE.

Kit includes:

  • MagLatch Modified Magazine Catch
  • F.N.G.R. (Type 0, 0F, 1, 2)
  • Magazine Catch Spring
  • Magazine Release Button
  • Set Screw
  • Allen Key
  • Installation Instructions

Don't forget your backup F.N.G.R.'s!

After overwhelming requests to solve the ever growing problem of forgotten magazines, Andrew Bobro of Bobro Engineering, designed the F.N.G.R. to prevent misplacement of your magazine. F.N.G.R. was originally designed to retain your firearm's magazine in the confines of your lower receiver to prevent loss or theft.

Patent Pending

MagLatch devices have not been approved by the DOJ. This device was designed to conform to the law as written in SB-880/AB 1135, which defines “fixed magazine” to mean an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action. Thousands of units have been installed and tested under the law. Multiple authorities have authorized use of our device. Since DOJ refuses to release an opinion letter we are unable to claim it is DOJ approved.

Mag catch too long for LMT MARS H

Published by Ryan Cunningham on Sep 1st 2023

love the system in general, but the AR-10 version's mag latch is too long for the LMT MARS H. the screw has to go well past the face of the button for the button to be seated deeply enough. If you have a MARS H just get the AR-15 version. Maglatch was cool and is letting me RMA the bigger latch and swap for the smaller to make it work for me.

Best solution if you want to keep other features

Published by Landon Rosenthal on Aug 23rd 2023

Proper fitment to MIL-SPEC dimensions, works perfect on my Aero Precision M5 Enhanced. Easy to install, just make sure to install it over a bench or table so you don't loose the hex locking screw. Prehaps adding an extra screw in case it rolls off the bench. Non CA compliant parts and tools easily stow in the grip for use in Constitutionally protected states. I like that additional shims are added, but I would rather have at least two shims in the most common size than 4 different, in case I loose or damage the primary one. It would also be cool to see an ambidextrous magazine release bar in the future. Even though this might be useless in CA it can be used in legal states once the screw and shim are removed making it ao that you don't have to completely replace the whole magazine release system. Overall a great product.

Had to file the shim down a bit to fit Aero M5 AR10

Published by Isaac on Aug 18th 2023

I like this fixed mag solution a lot, and I would buy it again. But I had to use a dremel to file down the small shim to get it to fit my Aero Precision M5 lower receiver.

Fixed Mag Kit for Aero M5E1

Published by Matt on Jul 13th 2023

Been using MagLock and wanted to try MagLatch to retain mill spec mag release and pop the key when facing tyranny. The finger is a tight fit but I can probably dremel the edges down. I like this so far.

    Not compatible with PSA AR-10

Published by David on Jun 9th 2023

This is a great product but will not work with a PSA AR-10, the mag release bolt portion is too long. you will need to purchase the AR-15 version.
